GitHub Client

A native GitHub client for the Mac.

Repositories, pull requests, issues, reviews, notifications and search, in a SwiftUI app built for macOS and Liquid Glass. It isn't a Git client: it doesn't make commits, branches or pushes.

Features

Everything you do on GitHub, as a Mac app

Built for reviewing and keeping up — not for replacing Git. The Free version includes all of this.
  • Pull requests and reviews

Review threads sit inline in the diff, including outdated ones, and commits appear in GitHub’s own timeline order without the page jumping around.

  • A native code viewer

Syntax highlighting for 45 languages, split diffs and exact permalinks, drawn by the app rather than a web view.

  • Issues and conversations

Comment, edit, close and reopen. Review, reply, resolve and merge, without leaving the app.

  • Notifications

Your GitHub inbox as a native list. Open what matters and mark the rest as read.

  • Search that knows GitHub

GitHub’s qualifiers with completions, code search with highlighted excerpts, and a visible rate-limit countdown.

  • Command palette

Press ⌘K to jump to repositories, pull requests and issues, ranked from your own history on your Mac.

  • Writes you can trust

Drafts survive navigation, and nothing posts twice. If a post can’t be confirmed, the app checks before trying again.

Pro feature

Fix Commits

GitHub doesn’t record which commit fixed a review comment. Fix Commits works it out.

For each review conversation, it lists the later commits most likely to have addressed it — from Git history, diffs and GitHub metadata. No AI.

  • Each candidate commit gets a clear label: Explicitly linked, Direct code change, Possible related change, or No fix commit identified.
  • Up to four reasons per candidate, each with the matching diff excerpt.
  • Follows the reviewed lines through later commits — moves, renames and deletions — and copes with force-pushes and outdated threads.
  • Jump from a commit to the conversations it fixed, or from a conversation to the changed code.

Native

Made for the Mac, from the core up

No web view, no Electron. The interface is SwiftUI and AppKit, on top of a Rust core that the Windows and Linux versions will share.
InterfaceSwiftUI and AppKitLiquid Glass, native lists, menus, keyboard shortcuts and ⌘K
BridgeUniFFITyped bindings between Swift and Rust
CoreRust coreData decoding, diff parsing and syntax highlighting, shared by every platform. Kept private.

Windows: Slint frontend · Linux: GTK frontend with Relm4 — both planned, on the same core.

How Pro will work

Planned behaviour for the licensing service. Details may be refined while it's built.

  • Try before you buyA 14-day Pro trial on each paid platform. You start it yourself, it needs no card, and it never charges you.
  • Three devicesEach purchase activates on up to three devices of that platform.
  • Works offlineA purchased license keeps working for up to 180 days without checking in, with a short extra grace period if the licensing service itself is down.
  • Nothing is lostIf Pro ever lapses, the app returns to Free with all of your data intact.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is it free?

Yes. The free version is the complete client, with no time limit and no separate licensing account. Pro adds one feature bundle, Fix Commits, as a one-time purchase.

When can I download it?

There’s no public build yet. The Mac app is in active development, and the download page will list builds as soon as they exist.

Which version of macOS does it need?

macOS 27 or later. It’s built around the current design system rather than carrying older versions along.

Is it a Git client?

No. It works with GitHub — repositories, pull requests, issues, reviews and notifications — but it doesn’t make commits, create branches or push.

Is there a subscription?

No. Pro is a permanent, one-time purchase per platform: $5.49 for macOS, $5.49 for Windows, or $9.99 for both. Linux is entirely free.

What about Windows and Linux?

Both are planned, with native frontends on the same core as the Mac app. Neither is available yet.

Can I start a trial or buy Pro now?

Not yet. Trials, purchases and device activations need a licensing service that hasn’t launched. Nothing on this site can sell or activate a license today.

Is the source available?

Not today. The plan is to publish the native frontends as source while the shared core stays private. This page will link the repository once it’s public.

Does it support several accounts or GitHub Enterprise?

Not at the moment. The app signs in to one github.com account at a time.

Not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub, Inc.

Why you can't buy Pro yet

The GitHub Client hasn’t been released, and the licensing service that handles purchases, trials and device activations hasn’t been built yet. Prices are final; there’s nothing to buy or activate today. This page will change when that does.

When it launches, purchases will be one-time, per platform: $5.49 for macOS, $5.49 for Windows, or $9.99 for both. Linux stays free.

Until then, there's no checkout, no trial and no account on this site — and nothing here will ask you for payment details.
